NY Times Schools for Tomorrow Conference White Paper

Nothing stands still. Not the world as a physical entity. Nor the people who inhabit it. Or the students who will eventually lead it. Which brings us to our system of learning. Today, we’re asking our teachers to deliver a world-class education for the 21st century. But are we utilizing the technology of the 21st century to do it? It’s time to address the challenges faced by schools, educators, students and parents in preparing our children for the future.

Not with promises.

With action.

To that end, we’re bringing together 400 of the most influential leaders in teaching, government, philanthropy and industry. The goal: to harness the power of technology to improve the learning experience. Democratize access to quality education. And elevate the American student to a higher level.

Upon these notes the NY Times convened a group to speak about education, the economics of education and the future of education. The attached White Paper summarized the conference.
